First Contact Practitioner

First Contact Practitioners are Physiotherapists and Musculoskeletal specialists working from GP practices. They are able to see any patient with a muscular aches and pains, provide treatment, and refer them on without them needing to use precious GP time.

The first challenge was explaining to patients the difference between musculoskeletal conditions, and other conditions. In the past the service had used anatomical drawings to do this, but, with the new identity moving away from clinical imagery a softer form was needed for this.

This image was expanded to form a recurring corner icon that could be used across all print and digital media to identify the FCP offering whilst also visualising the collaboration between SMSKP and GP services.
