CONTEXT

West Stafford Wheelers is a group of avid cyclists from the village of West Stafford in Dorset. Though there is an existing cycling club in the area, it caters more to the casual cyclist. This new club was set up to cater to the more empassioned cyclists in the community.

STRATEGY

Cycling imagery and branding typically focuses on the object of the bicycle rather than the passion of the sport. The sensation of speed, of wind on skin, spokes cutting through air, & the rhythmic click of the chain; these are what inspire these cyclists to their passion. If I could distill these sensations into an icon, I would be able to create a logo appropriate to such an impassion group.
